This trommel is driven by a 12 Volt electric motor coupled to a reduction gearbox. The control panel has an on/off switch protected by an emergency "panic" switch and a variable speed controller . The first two thirds of the barrel is a scrubber with lifting bars inside it and the last one third is screen with 10mm holes and a holding ring to control the flow of material in the barrel. The 10mm minus material drops down a shute onto a sluice with steel riffles and miners moss matting under the riffles . The oversize material then slides down a rubber lined shute.
This machine is beautifully built to the highest standards and is very stong and robust enough to take anything you can throw at it. The barrel is fabricated out of 5mm plate steel and the hopper is in 5 mm chequer plate aluminium. The water inlet manifold is a standard inch and a half BSP fitting and it weighs about 75 Kgs .
